Miles Johnston creates works designed to expose the mutable, transient and ultimately insubstantial nature of our default sense of self. He looks for his creations to hit on a deeper level, and to speak to the unavoidable experiences built in for existence in an impermanent universe. Loss, Guilt, Fear and Pain can all be used to form a deeper sense of compassion for all beings, that isn't predicated on any personal history or mutual traits.
