Anja Diabaté is a professional photographer based in Hamburg, Germany. Her strength and power is the transformation of her ideas and creativity into extremely expressive and soulful photos. Each of her photographs tells a unique story. Her highest self-requirement is to create multiple photos from a single original, but without ever losing the cohesion to the embedding series.

The Portrait
In this series Anja takes the dual role of photographer and model. The essence of this series lies in secrecy. Although the face is covered and therefore hidden, strong feelings and mood are created simply by the attitude of the body and posture of the head.
The Red Thread Portrait
The series represents her first self-portraits and so far her most personal work. The red thread symbolizes the path of life, which has a beginning and an undetermined, open end. The ups and downs of life are herewith shown. The minimalistic composition was chosen to focus the attention completely on the facial expressions. Once again, Anja is also the model in this series.
