The minimalistic beauty of the world in monochrome
Ana Junko is a Spanish photographer who captures the minimalistic beauty of the world in monochrome. She explores the tranquility of the ocean and the interplay between light and darkness in her series Mare Magnum and In Honor of the Shadows. She started experimenting with chemical photography in art school and her images have inherited a distinctive analogical appearance from this experience. She believes that black and white photography provides greater freedom for interpretation and is more interested in transmitting her personal vision and sensations in her work than in technical perfection or the technology of capture. Her current projects include a series that reflects the effect of time, using long exposure to create silent, lyrical landscapes.
