Âmes Hybrides
Ali Alışır is a Fine Art Photographer based in Istanbul, who has gained recognition for his ability to capture and convey the collective stress experienced by contemporary culture. His latest photographic series focuses on the theme of achieving peace amidst the complexity and fast-paced nature of modern life. Through his art, Alışır aims to reflect the inner conflict in physical movement, by superimposing layers of human bodies. The resulting images are of hybrid bodies that melt into one another with such precipitousness, making it difficult to focus on one individual subject.
By superimposing layers of human bodies, Alışır seeks to examine societal issues that manifest in various forms and through various fields, such as philosophy, sociology, literature, and cinema. His hybrid human bodies all struggle separately yet together, creating a kind of chaotic harmony in defiance of the complexities of modern-day life. His work aims to raise awareness of the societal issues and encourages the viewer to question the status quo.
Alışır’s works have been exhibited in many private and public collections, including the Istanbul Modern Art Museum, the Presidential Palace of the Republic of Turkey, and 94 embassies around the world. His photography has been recognized for its ability to convey complex societal issues through the medium of art. His works are thought-provoking and visually striking.
